Day charters

Bring your family, friends or team out for a day on the water. Simon handles the boat, the plan and the weather call. You decide how hands-on you want to be.

Foredeck, Saint John River

The Saint John River is wide, sheltered and good to sail, with long reaches and coves to stop in. A charter is the easy way to spend a day on it without owning a boat.

Nobody needs sailing experience. If you want to take the helm or trim a sail, Simon will show you how. If you would rather sit back, that works too.

What is included

  • Simon as skipper for the day
  • A route planned around the wind, the weather and what your group wants

What Simon needs from you

Questions

Do we need any sailing experience?

No. Simon runs the boat. If you want to learn along the way, tell him and he will put you to work.

What happens if the weather turns?

Simon makes the weather call before you leave and while you are out. If it is not safe to go, he will tell you and you can pick another day together.

How many people can come?

It depends on the boat and the trip. Tell Simon how many are in your group when you get in touch.

What should we bring?

Soft-soled shoes, layers and a warm jacket even in July, sunscreen, a hat, water and food. The river is always cooler than the shore.

Where do charters leave from?

Simon's home port is the Fredericton Yacht Club on Lincoln Road. Ask about other starting points on the river.

Tell Simon about your boat.

What she is, where she is, and what she needs. He will get back to you.
