Repairs

A leaking deck fitting, soft timber in the topsides, a hatch that weeps every time it rains. Simon finds what is actually wrong, tells you plainly, and fixes it.

Most boat problems start small and cheap. Water finds its way in around a fitting, then into the core or the timber behind it, and a small job becomes a big one.

Every repair starts with finding the real cause. You get a clear list of what needs doing now and what can wait, so you can plan the money as well as the work.

What is included

  • An inspection to find the cause, not just the symptom
  • A list of what needs doing now and what can wait
  • Hull, deck and timber repairs
  • Deck hardware re-bedded and leaks chased down
  • Photos of the work, so you can see what was done

What Simon needs from you

  • Photos of the problem, close up and from a step back
  • Where the boat is, and whether she is in the water or on the hard
  • Make, model, age and what the hull is made of
  • How long the problem has been there

Questions

Can the work be done at my marina?

Tell Simon where the boat is. A lot of repair work can be done where she sits, if your marina allows outside contractors.

Does the boat have to come out of the water?

Not always. Deck, rig and interior work can often be done afloat. Anything below the waterline needs her out.

Will I know the cost before work starts?

Ask for a quote. Simon can describe the job and price it before any work begins.

Tell Simon about your boat.

What she is, where she is, and what she needs. He will get back to you.
